                          Medical Coding is the conversion of a patient's healthcare process, procedures, treatment received , equipment used and more into alphanumeric codes. These codes must be accurate as they make up the whole payment procedures. The codes generated are later billed to insurance companies to claim insurance. 

                     Medical Coders uses a set of previously assigned codes for coding purposes, they are generally ICD, CPT and HCPCS. ICD codes or International Classification of Diseases are set of codes managed and published by World Health Organisation (WHO). These codes are diagnostic codes, which contains a patient's diagnosis, signs and symptoms or any other abnormal findings. For instance ICD code, R05.4 denotes cough syncope. 

                         Syncope is a temporary loss of consciousness caused by a decrease in the amount of blood flow to the brain. It is usually caused by a decrease in blood pressure, which can be due to a number of factors, such as standing up too quickly, anxiety, or a strong emotion. It can also be caused by a cough, as the force and intensity of the cough can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure.
