                 Medical Coding is the process of transforming descriptions of medical diagnoses and procedures into universal medical codes. These codes generated must be accurate as they make up the whole payment claim. Medical Billers bill these generated codes to insurance companies to claim insurance for payment purpose. 

                        Medical Coders use a set of codes for coding purpose, which includes ICD, CPT and HCPCS. ICD codes are diagnostic codes, CPT codes are procedural codes, HCPCS codes are equipment used.
